FLUIMAC barrel pumps

Barrel pumps from the Italian company FLUIMAC of the NETTUNE series are designed for transferring various types of liquids from cans, barrels, and euro-cubes. Pump tubes for the pumps are available in:

• polypropylene (PP): suitable for neutral, aggressive, and flammable liquids, specifically used for transferring aggressive chemicals such as acids, alkalis, or detergents with a maximum transfer medium temperature of 50°C;
• PVDF: suitable for highly aggressive liquids such as concentrated acids and alkalis, with a maximum medium temperature of 90°C;
• aluminum (AL): suitable for neutral and flammable liquids, mineral oils with a maximum viscosity of up to 1000 mPa and a maximum product temperature of 90°C;
• stainless steel AISI 316: used for all neutral and aggressive liquids such as diluted acids, alkalis, or detergents, as well as liquid food products, with a maximum transfer medium temperature of 90°C.

It is also very important to pay attention to the pump part configuration. There are cases when the material of the pump part is perfectly suitable for transferring the product, but for example, the seal or shaft does not withstand corrosion resistance.

One such example is the use of a polypropylene pump part for transferring hydrochloric acid with a concentration of only 5%. The result can be seen in the photo below.

An ideal solution for this task is to use a pump part with a shaft made of Hastelloy steel.

Hastelloy steel is used for transferring particularly aggressive liquids such as concentrated and diluted acids, alkalis, or detergents.
