Large selection of impeller pumps

March 19, 2025 / 13:48

Impeller pump belongs to the plate-rotor pumps and is a volumetric type pump. It is called by different names: pump with flexible plates, pump with a soft rotor, pump with a flexible impeller. However, it refers to the same pump, the impeller pump.

Applications of the pump: food industry, cosmetic, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.

The pump is used for transferring thick and viscous products, such as: honey, jam, yogurt, marmalade, condensed milk, and others.

In the cosmetic industry, it is used for transferring shampoos, face masks, gels, creams, and lotions.

The impeller pump consists of two main parts: the electric motor and the pump casing.

The pump uses an asynchronous closed-type electric motor with a maximum shaft speed of up to one and a half thousand revolutions per minute.

Most often, pumps with an electric motor running at 900 RPM are used. The power range of electric motors for impeller pumps ranges from 0.55 kW to 6 kW. Although pumps are produced both with and without a motor.

The pump casing consists of a front cover, rear cover, flexible impeller, mechanical seal, and mounting flange.

The moving part of the pump – the impeller – is located inside the casing, positioned between the front and rear covers. It is a wide, monolithic open-type working wheel with a varying number of flexible blades. The width of the impeller affects the pump's performance. A pump with a flexible impeller is self-priming. It can lift the product from a depth of up to 5 meters.

The impeller pump combines the capabilities of a centrifugal pump and a volumetric pump: it creates pressure and performance while also being able to pump thick, viscous liquids.
